The rules of using MakeResume

MakeResume (“MakeResume,” “we,” “us”) provides an online resume builder, ATS checker, and related AI-assisted writing tools at makeresume.pro. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and us when you create an account, subscribe, or otherwise use the service.

If you don't agree with anything here, please don't use MakeResume. For privacy practices, see the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

By creating an account, signing in, or using any part of MakeResume, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you are using MakeResume on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use MakeResume on your own. Users between 13 and 16 may use the service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. MakeResume is not intended for children under 13.

• You are responsible for the security of your sign-in credentials.
• Provide accurate information when signing up and keep it up to date.
• Don't share your account with someone else. One person, one account.
• Notify us right away if you suspect your account has been accessed without your permission.

The service currently includes:

• A resume builder with editable sections and 50+ ATS-oriented templates.
• Import of existing resumes from PDF or DOCX, and optionally from a public LinkedIn profile URL.
• AI-assisted bullet rewrites, summary generation, keyword matching against pasted job descriptions, and an ATS feedback tool.
• PDF export of completed resumes (available on the Pro plan).
• Storage of your resumes and saved job descriptions in your account.

We may add, change, or remove features over time. We'll communicate material changes in-product or by email.

Everything you put into MakeResume — your resume text, uploaded files, photos, job descriptions you paste — is your content and belongs to you.

You give us a limited license to store, process, and display your content for the sole purpose of running MakeResume for you. That license ends when you delete the content or your account. We don't use your resume content to train AI models, market to other users, or share it outside the third-party services listed in the Privacy Policy.

You confirm that you have the right to provide the content you upload (for example, you actually held the jobs you describe) and that your content doesn't violate anyone's rights or any law.

AI features (bullet rewrites, summaries, ATS reviews, resume parsing) are powered by Google Gemini through Google's paid API.

AI output is generated automatically and may be wrong, biased, outdated, or unsuitable. You are responsible for reviewing every AI suggestion before using it. Don't submit AI-generated text as factual claims about your background unless you can verify it's accurate.

We make no warranty that AI features will be available, accurate, or produce any specific result. Usage may be rate-limited or temporarily disabled for reliability or abuse-prevention reasons.

You agree not to:

• Use MakeResume to create resumes containing false, misleading, or fraudulent information that misrepresents your identity or experience.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, copy, or redistribute the service, our templates, sample resumes, or any other content, except for your own resumes.
• Attempt to bypass plan limits, pricing, authentication, or any other technical restriction.
• Upload malware, attempt to gain unauthorized access to the system, or interfere with the operation of MakeResume for other users.
• Use the AI features to generate content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, or that infringes on intellectual property.
• Resell access to MakeResume, share your account, or use the service to build a competing product.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

MakeResume offers a free tier and paid subscriptions. Current plans are displayed on the Pricing page. As of the “Last updated” date, the paid options are:

• 7-Day Trial — $1.95 for 7 days of Pro access, then auto-renews to $11.54 per month unless cancelled before the trial ends.
• Quarterly Pro — $23.48 billed every 3 months ($7.83/month).

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. By subscribing, you authorize Lemon Squeezy to charge your payment method on a recurring basis for the plan you chose, including taxes where applicable, until you cancel.

Prices may change. We'll give you advance notice (in-app or by email) before any change applies to your next renewal — you can cancel before the change takes effect if you don't want it.

• Cancel any time from Dashboard → Billing. You retain Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
• Trials must be cancelled before the trial period ends to avoid being charged for the renewal.
• Because Pro is digital and unlocked immediately, charges are generally non-refundable. If you were charged in error or had a technical issue that prevented you from using the service, contact support@makeresume.pro within 14 days and we'll review it case by case.
• Where local law gives you statutory refund rights (for example, the EU cooling-off period), those rights still apply.

MakeResume, including the software, templates, sample resumes, design, branding, and copy, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may use it only as permitted by these Terms.

Templates are licensed for your personal use to create your own resumes. You may not redistribute, resell, or re-publish the templates themselves.

MakeResume relies on third parties to operate. By using the service you also agree to relevant third-party terms where they apply:

• Supabase — auth, database, and file storage.
• Google Gemini — AI processing.
• Lemon Squeezy — checkout and recurring billing.
• Resend — transactional email.
• PostHog — product analytics.

We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or content of third parties. See the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for what we share with each.

MakeResume helps you build and tailor a resume. We do not guarantee interviews, job offers, salary outcomes, or any specific hiring result. Hiring decisions are made by employers based on many factors that have nothing to do with this product.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MakeResume and its directors, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.

Our total cumulative liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 50.

You agree to indemnify and hold MakeResume harmless from any claim, demand, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) your content, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

You may stop using MakeResume at any time and delete your account from Dashboard → Profile.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if your payment fails, or if we discontinue the service. We'll give reasonable notice when possible, but immediate suspension is allowed in cases of fraud, abuse, or security risk.

We may update these Terms when we add features, change pricing, or for legal reasons. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent change. For material changes we'll also notify you in-app or by email. Continued use of MakeResume after the change means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MakeResume is operated, without regard to its conflict of law principles. To the extent permitted by law, any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction. Nothing here limits your mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
